He previously founded ROVOP, growing it into the world’s leading independent operator of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), with a global team of more than 250 people. His experience at the intersection of finance, energy, and technology has shaped Ventex’s unique model — combining executive talent and capital to transform proven technologies and skill sets, often from oil and gas, into high-growth climate tech businesses.

At Ventex, Steve leads the studio’s strategy and investment approach, targeting scalable opportunities where mature industrial capabilities can be retooled for the energy transition. Under his leadership, Ventex has already backed ventures including High Performance Robotics (HPR) and Rahd AI — businesses built on existing strengths but redeployed for a low-carbon future.
